so, i played twilight's fall for the first time yesterday, and i want to talk about it a bit

first of all, it was a lot of fun and i think that it's a really cool variant for the game, and i definitely want to play it again at some point, but i think that i still overall like normal twilight imperium better
i feel like the range of how good some abilities are compared to others is just very wide, and it makes it kind of weird, and the action card deck also has kind of a similar problem, although that's kind of also a thing in base game
also the action card deck is very small, we went through it several times
i also hate setting up and putting away twilight's fall, because it's even worse than normal ti
i'm having to take out random faction components throughout the game, and then also needing to use the faction reference cards in the beginning of tf sucks for the way that i have my stuff organized, because i just have the reference cards in bags with the rest of the components for those factions, so i needed to go through and get every single one out, and then put them back in, so that was a bit annoying

other than that though, it was a lot of fun and it's a very cool mode and i want to play it again before the end of the summer

i love the champions battle data screen so much, because like, how else would i learn that 14% of simipours use charizardite x as their item. this is vital information for how i'm going to build the simipour that i'm definitely going to use

#also the 2nd and 3rd most common teammates for simipour are simisear and simisage respectively, because i guess if you're using one, you might just as well commit to the bit, but the number 1 is notable elemental monkey, aerodactyl.
#also 20% of simisears run charizardite y, so if you want to have both of them, i guess there you go
#for simisear, that's the second most common item by only 0.3%
#i maybe should have made this post about simisear instead
#but anyway, someone's memeing hard enough to make those the most common items on the simis, which is so great.
#it's also funny how floette's items are so centralized with floettite (because, like, what the hell else are you running on floette) that both froslassite and gardevoirite make the top 10 items for it.
#also i just checked, the average simipour is more likely to run charizardite x than charizard is

y'know, i've never seen/heard anyone talk about this, but you can actually get a yump at the end of mario maker levels, like in the smw switch palaces. i'm not sure if it's possible in levels with flags or with axes, but in smw and smb3 styles you can get a frame perfect jump input (at least i'm pretty sure that it's frame perfect) when you hit the goal and then once you hit the ground after getting the goal, it does a little jump.

#but yeah, just a wierd little thing that i've never seen mentioned
#i tried with a flag in smb1 style for a while and couldn't get anything, so either i'm bad (which is very possible), or it doesn't work in that style (which is also possible, albiet a little dissapointing)
#or maybe it doesn't work in maker mode i guess

what if whenever i make posts talking about twilight imperium, i just use the fucking lazax font. this would have absolutely no benefit and just be annoying, but on the other hand it does show off that i just added the font to my site, so that's something.

#i do actually also have the other twilight imperium font on my computer (like the one kind of blocky, sci-fi-y one that they use for names of things on faction sheets and action cards and stuff), but that's less visually funny to put on my site
#oh also in other somewhat related news, in the game that i played earlier this week, i got to play jol-nar, and it was really cool
#jol-nar and deepwrought are like, probably my favorite factions
#i like deepwrought a bit more though i think
